Do you use a pendulum? As I mentioned in a previous post, witchcraft doesn't have to cost you a thing, that doesn't mean though that certain tools aren't helpful...
I personally own a crystal pendulum, and I use it quite often, but there is no need to go buy divination mats and expensive accessories, or even expensive pendulums... everything you need if you want to divine, you can make yourself. A pendulum need only be a weighted small object on the end of a string or chain, make one in nature using nuts or stones, or go to a bead store and make your very own with a pendant...
I don't use a divining mat, and I actually wouldn't suggest buying a commercially printed one, as there is nothing special about it. If you want something to divine above, I suggest melting wax on a wood tree slice, a wide piece of driftwood, or a medium sized flat stone. Etch your own inscriptions and answers into the wax, using whatever format is in your mind, and watch your results improve. You can add paint or ink to the grooves in order to see the markings better. Always remember being a witch is about what is in your mind and body... let your instincts flow.
